Fly babies

Quite fresh... and ready to fly!!!

I was asked to illustrate two baby planes for the baptism of two wonderful babies. I had to be really fast... so i did! I would like to put some more details but time pressure didn't let me so.

Anyway, get on and fly, baby...

T-shirt design - Take Your Shot fanzine

This is a t-shirt I designed for my pal Fotis TYS's hardcore/metal fanzine.  We've been working together many times in the past, since the zine's inception in 2004 (graphics, logos, graffiti's etc). In the summer of 2011, Fotis had the idea of making the first ever TYS T shirt and came to me, looking for something which would be a cross between classic hardcore imagery, but with a funny twist.

Everything came out with a fast sketch and moved on with hard work on Adobe Illustrator. There were some suggestions about the colors but after all we ended up using 2 colors... nice and easy!!!

Here is what Fotis has to say about the idea behind the zine:

"For this first TYS tee, I wanted to have an image that would be clean cut, positive and recognizable. I wanted to make a parody of that old school Hare Krishna imagery found in early albums of  hardcore bands like Cro-Mags and Shelter. Therefore, I picked Ganesh, the elephant god from Hindu religion. Jim had the idea to design the whole thing from scratch, which was awesome. I also asked Jim to design the X on the elephants fist in order to represent straight edge. The underlining title "chiller than most" is a line from the zine, and captures the positive values that I want TYS to represent, about keeping a cool head amidst the chaos."

So... here is the progression of the design and the whole procedure from the first sketch to the final printed t-shirt.

Athens Bike Festival - Atom bike

A big representation for the bike community and all the bikers...

the Athens Bike Festival that took part in Technopolis at Gazi (Athens) 16-18 september.
I took also part with something different this time... a construction with bike parts!

From thought to sketch to creation and exposure!!!
My inspiration came through an old Greek coin, the 10drh coin. On the one side appears the atom which is except for a very nice shape ... is a wheeler too. So i searched for the parts i needed and started making things happen!

7ply project - BEER

7ply project is an exhibition about skateboard, based in Athens Greece. This years show was at 4-5 of June. Lot of artists, skaters and surrounders were there. Just to know i' m skating from the age of 12 and skateboarding is the love i' ll never betray and always respect!

As so many years past rolling this god damn board, i had to do something true, representative and finally something that would touch a skaters heart... that was a challenge for me and i' m very happy rocking this blank board!

I know it's been a long time non posting... but now i' m back on track!

Fresh and new design of Samuel (Barclay) Beckett at National Conservatory of Greece.
I was asked for a character to be related with the conservatory... so i took a ride through many personalities and i ended up to this man, Samuel B. Beckett. There is a great photo of his that inspired me to move on and roll with this cubist style!!!

Enjoy!

Howdy deck - surfboard art (the great collaboration)

Here comes another custom creation of surfboard art for Cohete surfboards by Boohaha!

The graphic of this deck stems from a story i was told from Kostas (the owner of this deck) after a trip he had in U.S.! After long talking and working on the idea with Kostas, we ended up like this.
So when i started painting the board i shot the action in order to make a stop motion video. Then i had the idea of making the music for the video and after getting the basic idea of the track, i told Kostas story to SD musical compositions and started this great collaboration of picture and sound. Recording for days with SD and Panagiotis Vlachos (Mastorei crew) we got what we need. Lotta thanx to Sotos(SoBa) who mixed and mastered the track from the far away Netherlands!!!

... as the story ends  i have to tell you that collaborations between us is what is gonna keep us united and strong to make BIG stuff in this universal madness...

...so stop the hates and get together as 1!!!

BHH!
